Following three years of activities under EuroCC 2, EuroCC Portugal is entering a new phase with the launch of EuroCC 3, continuing its mission of promoting advanced computing across research, industry and the public sector.

Funded by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, EuroCC 3 brings together 36 European countries through a network of National Competence Centres (NCCs), with the goal of strengthening advanced computing skills, improving access to cutting-edge technologies and accelerating their adoption across Europe.

In Portugal, this new phase also marks an important national milestone with the establishment of the National Advanced Computing Centre (CNCA), which now coordinates the Portuguese NCC and strengthens the country’s ecosystem for advanced computing, artificial intelligence and digital services for science.

Over the next three years, EuroCC Portugal will continue to support researchers, businesses, public organisations and other stakeholders through:

• training and skills development;
• communication and dissemination of opportunities;
• expert support for the adoption of advanced computing technologies;
• access to national and European infrastructures, including Deucalion and other EuroHPC resources;
• collaboration with European initiatives in HPC, HPDA and Artificial Intelligence.

Another key development is the integration of the project into the new HPC in Europe ecosystem, which provides a single access point to National Competence Centres, Centres of Excellence and other EuroHPC-funded initiatives, making it easier to discover services, training opportunities and collaborations across Europe.

EuroCC 3 will continue to bring advanced computing closer to its users, contributing to scientific excellence, technological innovation and industrial competitiveness in Portugal while supporting Europe’s digital transformation.
