National Competence Center

The Portuguese National Competence Centre for High-Performance Computing — NCC Portugal is the national point of contact within the EuroCC network for companies, scientific and academic institutions, public administrations and other organisations interested in benefiting from advanced computing technologies.

During the third phase of the project, NCC Portugal is coordinated by the National Advanced Computing Centre (CNCA), Portugal’s reference infrastructure for advanced computing and digital services for science and innovation.

NCC Portugal currently brings together CNCA, LIP – Laboratory of Instrumentation and Experimental Particle Physics, INESC TEC, the University of Coimbra and the University of Évora. Working together, these organisations provide their expertise, experience and resources to support the adoption and use of High-Performance Computing, High-Performance Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and related technologies.

The Centre’s activities include mapping and promoting the expertise and resources available in Portugal, providing training, supporting access to computing infrastructures, offering specialised consultancy and connecting users with the national or European services, experts and projects best suited to their needs.

As NCC Portugal, the Centre aims to facilitate each user’s journey, from identifying an initial need or opportunity to developing skills, accessing resources and implementing advanced computing solutions.
